1. What We Collect

When you book a trip, request a consultation, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, country, hotel (and where it is on the map, if you pick it from the suggestions while booking, so we can estimate your pickup time), and any details you choose to share about your trip preferences.

2. Payment Information

We do not currently collect any payment details on our website. Every booking is reserve now, pay later — you pay your guide or captain directly, in cash or by card, when you meet. If online card payment is offered in the future, it will be processed by Stripe, and we will never see, receive, or store your full card number, CVV, or bank details — that data would go directly to Stripe’s secure, PCI-compliant systems.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To process and confirm your booking or consultation request.
• To communicate with you about your trip (pickup times, itinerary changes, etc.).
• To send occasional travel tips or offers, only if you opt in via our newsletter.
• To improve our trips and services based on reviews and feedback.

4. Sharing

We share limited booking details (name, date, traveler count) with the guides, drivers or operators directly running your trip — never for marketing purposes. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data Retention

Booking records are retained for accounting and legal purposes for as long as required by Egyptian law, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

Technical error logs are kept for 90 days and are then deleted automatically; email addresses and phone numbers are masked before an error is logged.

If you send us a suggestion through the suggestion box and give your name or e-mail address, those two details are removed 90 days after you sent it; the text of the suggestion itself may be kept so we can still learn from it. The short-lived counters that protect the site from abuse (for example repeated sign-in attempts) are stored in a scrambled form and deleted within two days.

6. Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements) by emailing hello@sunnyegypttravels.com.
