Al-Azhar Park was built over a centuries-old rubble mound that once buried this part of Old Cairo, and today it's one of the greenest, best-kept spots in the whole city. Walk up to its highest terraces and the skyline just opens up in front of you — minarets, domes, and the Citadel all lined up with nothing blocking the view.
