This full-day trip takes you from Cairo to Alexandria to see the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Citadel of Qaitbay, then walk through the royal Montazah Gardens and Palace grounds overlooking the Mediterranean. The older Salamlek palace and the later Haramlek, which blends Ottoman and Florentine styles, stand among avenues of palm trees. The estate is large and explored on foot, so comfortable shoes are a good idea. It is the fuller version of our classic Alexandria day trip, adding the royal gardens to the city's main sights.
